Get HIPped

2009 June 17

So I am late, but I am sold! A few months back I discovered L’Oreal HIP(High Intensity Pigments). Yes, the line has been around for some time now and most of you are probably already using at least one product from L’Oreal’s HIP line. Since my discovery, I now own 10 duos, 4 cream liners, 2 lip balms, and 2 lip glosses. I am impressed with every HIP product that I own.

I know that you are saying “How good can it be?…It comes from the drugstore.” Very good. L’Oreal is a brand that has been around for a long time. They are now celebrating 100 years of legendary beauty. A brand does not stick around this long just by chance. They are making big strides in the beauty industry and have definitely left their mark in years past. So let’s not get it twisted.

Beauties on a budget can appreciate the price and quality of the HIP line. Check your local Walgreens, CVS, or RiteAid for incredible BOGO deals. Usually one of your local drugstores will have a product from this line on sale for BOGO Free or BOGO 50% off. You can’t beat that with a stick.

So the next time that you are in need of a quick makeup fix, don’t forget about this drugstore brand favorite, L’Oreal HIP. I will see you on the beauty aisle.

Facial Regimen

2009 June 11

Lately, my skin has not been the most impressive thing going for me. I have been having a series of unexplained breakouts. About three weeks ago, I had a pimple the size of Texas. It was ridiculously big and out of place, right above my brow bone. Needless to say, I tried to pop it, but could not because it did not have a head.

See that is my problem…popping pimples. This bad habit always leaves me with unsightly dark spots in my face. I always tell myself “I will not pop this pimple”, but can never hold true to that promise. As I look at my face, I see a lot of broken promises.

bio-oilI have been relentlessly looking for something to lighten all these ugly dark spots in my face. So, at the recommendation of my cousin. I have started using Bio-Oil as my moisturizer since it is suppose to lighten dark spots. Well here it what Bio-Oil claims:

Bio-Oil® is a specialist skincare product that helps improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tone. Its advanced formulation, which contains the breakthrough ingredient
PurCellin Oil™, also makes it highly effective for numerous other skin concerns, including aging skin and dehydrated skin.

I have been using this oil for about 2 weeks now. I will say that I love the way it makes my skin feel. My skin feels very soft and supple, but I cannot give all the credit to Bio-Oil.

I recently purchased Queen Helene Cocoa Butter Facial Scrub at the recommendation of Miss Kris. This scrub does everything I need it to do for only 3 bucks! It does not get any better than that, in my opinion. Thank you, Miss Kris. My skin feels so amazingly soft after every use.

My new regimen will hopefully lead to better looking skin. I SHALL NOT POP ANYMORE PIMPLES.(Scout’s honor)

Pimple popper? What proven regimen do you use to lighten dark spots?

Book of Shadows

2009 June 4

310I really would like to own this book of shadows by Urban Decay. Actually, this would be my first Urban Decay purchase, if I decide to bite the bullet and add this to my makeup collection. It retails for $45 on their website. It comes equipped with 16 eyeshadows, two premium brushes and a travel size eyeshadow primer potion.

Is it worth it? I think that is well worth the bucks; mainly because I have heard nothing but good things about Urban Decay. Another reason is the cute packaging. The shadows are stashed away in a drawer. Love it! I honestly do not think that I will be disappointed in the slightest way.

They only have limited quantities. If I really want it, I need to go ahead and place my order. I am sure that I will order it before the weekend is complete.

Do you own this book of shadows? Tell me how well you like it. Do you have a urge to own it, like I do? Tell me why you would like to own it.

Rosalyn ScentThere is just something about fragrances that lifts my spirit. When I am feeling a little blue, I will just go and mist myself with one of the many fragrances that I own. As of late, I have really been on the sweet tip and there is nothing sweeter than sugar. I should know because I am a sucker for sweets. So imagine my excitement when I received a sample of my new favorite scent, Sugar Baby, in the mail. It was love at first smell. I ordered it ASAP.

If you have never heard of this scent, then you have never heard of Rosalyn’s Scent. Rosalyn’s Scent is an online fragrance boutique. Cassandra Stewart, owner and mixtress, carries an array of fragrances for your home and body. Her natural bath and body line is amazing. I cannot get enough of it. So, of course there will be more review blogs about this line in the very near future. Stay tuned.

You have a chance to own this fragrance too because I just ordered more to share! That’s right! I am giving you a chance to win your very own 1 oz. bottle of Sugar Baby. All you have to do is follow my blog. You can follow using Facebook or Google connect. The choice is yours. The winner will be randomly chosen on May 30th. Happy following and good luck!
